The Events Industry Alliance (EIA), the collective associations of AEO, AEV and ESSA, has announced Dino Gazzi as its new finance director.
Dino Gazzi has over 20 years’ experience in finance. A chartered accountant, Gazzi’s previous roles have included finance director, financial controller and head of financial reporting across sectors such as retail and sport.
Gazzi offers a combination of strong technical experience in financial control paired with reporting in strategic management. Dazzi’s experience features 8 years as group finance director at Apxpress Ltd and 14 years at the Football Association.
Gazzi shared his enthusiasm for the new role: “I am really excited with the opportunity to join this unique organisation. I have been made to feel very welcome by the whole EIA team and look forward to meeting the wider EIA network.”
The announcement also includes several changes to EIA’s board as part of its annual association rotation. Notable changes include Rachel Swann, chief operating officer of the energy division at dmg, comes in as EIA chair for AEO’s term as lead. While Alison Willis, Easyfairs’ UK & Global CEO, steps up as vice chair.
Other board shifts see Anna Golden in her new role as CEO of AEO. Alexandra Bailey, managing director of Creative8 Ltd, joins the board for the first time as ESSA vice-chair.
Gazzi replaces Margery Youngs following a twenty year career with EIA. Jeremy Rees, CEO of Excel London and EIA Treasurer, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dino to the EIA team. Thanks go to Margery for her contribution over the years and we wish her well in her new pursuits.”
The new EIA board will work to boost the events industry’s visibility. The sector drives £61.6bn of trade into UK businesses. The board aims to ensure the industry gets the recognition it deserves.
