DWTC Hospitality, the hospitality division of Dubai World Trade Centre, served nearly one million guests across more than 2,400 events in 2024, including GITEX Global, Gulfood and the World Health Expo.
The division saw a 37% year-on-year increase in off-site catering, driven by major events like the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Dubai Boat Show and MEBAA Show. Conference and association catering also grew by 12%, with nearly 95,000 attendees served at events including the AWS MENA Summit and WCA Worldwide Conference.
“2024 has been an outstanding year… from large-scale exhibitions and conferences to high-profile weddings and gala dinners, we remain committed to setting new benchmarks,” said Mahir Julfar, executive vice-president, DWTC (pictured).
DWTC’s owned and managed venues also contributed to growth. Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) hosted over 73,000 guests, while Jafza One Convention Centre more than doubled its catering numbers, serving 25,000 guests – a 116% increase from 2023.
In total, DWTC’s off-site team catered to over 145,000 guests at 1,105 events. Capacity was scaled up to serve up to 40,000 guests per day.
DWTC Hospitality also extended its international footprint in 2024, delivering catering at GITEX Africa in Morocco.
