CrimeCon to launch in UK next June

CrimeCon, a true crime exhibition, has announced that it will launching a UK edition of the event in 2021.

Partnering with true crime TV channel, Crime + Investigation®, CrimeCon UK will bring together criminologists, pathologists, law enforcement representatives, documentary makers, investigative journalists, and podcasters, for live shows, panels, immersive experiences and live podcast recordings.

Michael Dynan, co-founder of Exhibit A Events Ltd, organiser of CrimeCon said: “It’s going to be a very challenging winter ahead but extensive focus group feedback demonstrates a real desire to look ahead to next year and plan experiences. We may be going against the grain to launch now, but as event organisers we work on much longer cycles and we simply can’t sit back and wait. We are preparing positively for June 2021 and putting in place all the necessary measures to react swiftly to any future changes due to Covid-19. We’ve had an incredible amount of support from the true crime community, five major international partners are confirmed and actively working on the event, and we’re already selling Covid-proof tickets including to international visitors.”

Those set to speak a the event  include: Deanna Thompson, from Netflix docuseries “Don’t F**k With Cats,”; Mark Williams-Thomas, investigative reporter best known for exposing Jimmy Savile; Christopher Berry-Dee, the UK’s best-selling true-crime author; forensic psychiatrist Dr Soham Das; social historian Professor Carl Chinn MBE Ph.D; and Chris Atkins, ex-con author and BAFTAnominated filmmaker. CrimeCon was created in 2017, but was previously a US-only event.

CrimeconUK will be taking place from 12-13 June 2021 at Leonardo Royal Hotel and Spa, St Paul’s London.
