The Association of Event Organisers has promoted two of its team as part of its ongoing commitment to nurture industry talent.
Lauren Petchell (pictured right) has been promoted to head of projects (formerly project manager), and Emily Weall (pictured left) is the AEO’s new marketing manager (formerly senior marketing executive).
Petchell’s promotion recognises her significant contributions to the organisation, as she continues to make headway on the AEO’s sustainability journey and deliver on the numerous working groups she facilitates.
Chris Skeith OBE, chief executive of AEO and Petchell’s line report said: “Lauren has truly excelled in her role here at AEO. Her leadership and dedication have been nothing short of outstanding. She’s built fantastic relationships with our members, and the way our working groups have thrived since she joined is clear. Lauren is handling more groups than we’ve ever seen, leading to a noticeable boost in member engagement. Her efforts in advancing our sustainability initiatives have been remarkable, and she absolutely deserves this new role.”
In Weall’s new role, she will develop and execute marketing plans to promote AEO initiatives to members, partners, and sponsors. She will also lead event marketing efforts, manage content across various channels, and scrutinise data to unpack opportunities.
Carmen Searle, head of marketing and Emily’s line report, said: “Emily has been a vital part of our team, consistently pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation in our marketing efforts. She’s has become a central point of contact to the events team, takes ownership of any given project and is incredibly passionate about serving the members. Her promotion is a testament to her talent and dedication, and I have no doubt she will continue to excel in this new role.”
