Easyfairs Belgium NV has completed its acquisition of Xpo Group BV, acquiring 100% of the company’s shares following a public takeover bid.

The deal brings together two event organisers with international footprints. Xpo Group organises 61 events across 17 European countries, spanning construction and interior design, renewable energy, manufacturing and technology, food, retail, and marketing and communication. Its portfolio includes ARCHITECT@WORK (pictured), which serves architects and specifiers across 13 European countries, alongside the Design Nation series and Solar Solutions portfolio. The company also operates the Kortrijk Xpo venue in Flanders.

Easyfairs announced its intention to launch a takeover bid for Xpo Group on 13 May 2026. 99.99% of shareholders accepted the initial offer, and it was reopened under Belgian takeover regulations until 30 July. The transaction finally completed on 31 July.

Matt Benyon, group CEO of Easyfairs, said: “The acquisition of Xpo Group represents a significant step in the growth of Easyfairs. It adds an attractive portfolio of established events and creates new opportunities for expansion in Europe and the United States.”

Anne Lafère, also group CEO of Easyfairs, said: “We share strong Belgian entrepreneurial roots, but we have both built successful international businesses by developing specialist event concepts.”

Saskia Soete-De Boosere, CEO of Xpo Group, added: “It was clear that Easyfairs shared our entrepreneurial mindset and our commitment to building strong specialist communities. Joining the Easyfairs family gives our event brands access to a broader international platform while preserving the qualities that have made them successful.”

Easyfairs moving at pace

The acquisition comes just over a week after Easyfairs announced it would launch Digital Accountancy Show USA in Austin, Texas, on 26-27 May 2027, following the growth of its UK edition, which has expanded from 600 delegates at launch in 2021 to more than 7,000 attendees today.
