Event registration company RefTech has launched ContactScanning, a mobile application aimed at event organisers seeking greater visibility into attendee interactions and data collection across events.
The app is available on iOS and Android and allows authorised users, including exhibitors, distributors and event staff, to scan attendee badges, record notes and contribute to a centralised dataset managed by the organiser. Attendees receive notifications when their badges are scanned and can add their own notes to each interaction.
RefTech said the platform is designed to support organiser-led data collection rather than exhibitor-only lead retrieval. It enables both organisers and attendees to record and review interactions during events.
Users access the app by downloading it and verifying their credentials through badge scanning. They can then scan attendee badges and add notes throughout the event. Attendees can also log their own interactions, creating a record for follow-up.
Data collected through the app is compiled into a single report for organisers. Individual users can access only the data they have personally recorded.
According to RefTech, the system is intended to capture data across multiple touchpoints, provide insight into attendee engagement, track activity across teams and stands, and consolidate event interaction data into a single view.
The company states that the platform is designed to operate across events without requiring additional setup or separate lead capture systems.
RefTech MD Margaret Reeves said: “ContactScanning came from a very real client challenge. They didn’t want another layer of complexity or a tool that only worked for part of the audience, they wanted a simple way to understand what was actually happening across their event, across multiple interactions between their distributors and customers.”
