The FAF FARBE, AUSBAU & FASSADE, the trade fair for facade design and interior architecture, is set to make the move from Cologne to Stuttgart for its 2028 edition, 7-10 March 2028. The show will come to Messe Stuttgart for the first time and take place at the same time as DACH+HOLZ International, which has featured in Stuttgart every four years since 2008.
The Messe reports the decision to relocate was taken following discussions with key market players from industry, trade and supporting associations of the FAF, such as the Federal Association for Paint, Design and Building Protection in Germany, as well as the Bundesverband Ausbau und Fassade (German federal association for finishing and facade).
With the move to Stuttgart, the FAF will now be taking place alongside DACH+HOLZ International – a key get-together for the national and international roofing and timber construction industry. The collaboration of these two central industry platforms emphasises the importance of Baden-Württemberg, with its almost 140,000 trade businesses, as an important location for the construction and finishing industry.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome FAF to Stuttgart and to have impressed the organisers with our location, variety of services and superb infrastructure. We want to make this industry feel at home in Stuttgart and look forward to sharing in the success of these events,” said Stefan Lohert, president of Messe Stuttgart.
Tobias Gröber, CEO and managing director of GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH, organiser of the event, said: “We are so pleased to have found a slot for FAF 2028 at one of the most modern and efficient trade fair grounds Germany has to offer. The shared date and location only add to the appeal of the two GHM events, without either losing their individual charm – DACH+HOLZ International remains DACH+HOLZ International and FAF remains FAF FARBE, AUSBAU & FASSADE.”
While the shows’ focus will lie with the German-speaking market, the number of international participants, particularly from the neighbouring European countries is likely to increase, organisers believe.
The 2026 and 2027 editions of FAR FARBE AUSBAU & FASSADE are still scheduled to run in Cologne in March and April, respectively.
