Prague will welcome a new hub for digital and transmedia art next month as Signal Space opens its permanent gallery in a former market hall.
The gallery will launch with Echoes of Tomorrow, an exhibition featuring artists and studios working at the intersection of technology, data, and creative practice. The show examines the evolution of digital culture and how it is being shaped by new tools and processes.
Eight works will be on display, combining algorithms, human input, light, sound, movement, rhythm, and data. Among them is Playmodes Studio’s Signes, which blends visual canvas, sculpture, and digital screen. The work is built around a matrix of 12 x 4 rotating light bars, supported by custom software and hardware developed by the artists.
Also featured is Fighters, a film documenting the algorithmic creation of Italian artist Quayola’s marble sculpture and his collaboration with music producer Max Cooper, inspired by Michelangelo’s unfinished Captives.
Japanese artist Shohei Fujimoto contributes Intangible #form, which explores perception through laser-based structures.
Beyond exhibitions, Signal Space will host the Signal Playground, an interactive environment where children and families can explore storytelling through digital art and technology.
Signal Space founder Martin Pošta said: “Each work offers a different way of thinking about the future – not as something distant, but as a web of choices, habits, memories and technological gestures that shape our everyday. This first exhibition is not just a premiere, it is a manifesto.”
Echoes of Tomorrow will run from 30 September until the end of March 2026.
