The first International MICE Summit (IMS2024) has officially launched in Saudi Arabia with a dramatic opening: major announcements have been made by global leaders in the events industry.

Three events giants – RX Global, Messe Munich and Clarion – have announced new office openings in the Kingdom.

12 events have been announced to launch in Saudi Arabia, including:

  • Money20/20 (Informa/Tahaluf)
  • FIBO (RX Global)
  • Fire Department and Emergency Services Conference (Clarion)
  • International Hardware Show (Koelnmesse/DMG)
  • HOST (Fiera Milano)
  • ArabLab (Terrapin)
  • World Refining Technology Congress
  • Advanced Therapies Week

With over 1,000 events professionals in attendance, some of the key players include: leaders of UFI, Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, International Congress and Convention Association and Global Sustainable Tourism Council, and executives from Informa, RX Global, Messe Munich, Clarion Events, Messe Desseldorf and Richard Attias & Associates.

Speakers on day one included Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb and former Ministers and Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Italy and Greece.

Chairman of the Saudi Conventions & Exhibitions General Authority (SCEGA) His Excellency Fahd Al Rasheed said: “The first day of the International MICE Summit has been a tremendous success with three of the top 10 global professional event organisers opening offices in Saudi Arabia, 12 new event launches and multiple agreements signed to drive industry progress.”

He also commented that the summit will “represent the beginning of a new chapter for the events world”.
