Organisers of electric car event the Fully Charged SHOW have launched a crowdfunding campaign with the aim of raising £1.5m.
The event has already welcomed several direct investors and has announced its anchor investor, Simon Hackett, an Australian technology entrepreneur and long-term advocate of electric vehicles and renewable energy.
As it moves into phase three of its business plan, the show’s founder Robert Llewellyn and CEO Dan Caesar have invited Hackett to be a non-executive director of the Fully Charged SHOW Ltd.
Hackett, co-founder of Internode Pty Ltd, is also the largest investor in sustainable energy storage manufacturer, Redflow. The Hackett Foundation undertakes targeted philanthropy work, most notably including the presenting sponsorship of WOMADelaide.
The Fully Charged LIVE exhibitions have brought the Fully Charged SHOW to the US, Australia, Europe and the UK. The events are to be rebranded to Everything Electric from 2024.
The event is based on the successful YouTube channel Fully Charged Show, which was founded 13 years ago and has over one million subscribers.
Llewellyn said: “Recent years have been an incredibly enjoyable journey for myself, Dan and the team, but it is even better when we are joined by like-minded people, and as such we are delighted to have Simon on board.”
Caesar added: “We are in the process of optimising our existing opportunities, opening up new ones and developing our internal governance to make the business sustainable in the long-term. Simon’s involvement will be invaluable in this respect.”
