-45dB, a pioneering start-up from the Thorns Group stable specialising in modular, sustainable, sound-reduced meeting spaces, is forecasting 300% growth in year two, following a busy first 12 months that has seen big seven-figure demand for the product.
Since launching in 2024 the new -45dB venture has been targeted by founder and MD Jon Noonan at becoming a global leader in sound reduction across the events and exhibition industry. A global patent is pending as the company targets the international markets, in particular the Middle East.
“Our journey has been both challenging and rewarding,” says Noonan. “Achieving what we have in Year 1 is unbelievable and to be forecasting 300% growth is a testament to the product we have brought to market, which has seemingly fulfilled the age-old challenge of noise in events. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited for what the future holds.”
To support these growth plans -45dB has appointed Jonny Simon (pictured) as business development director. Simon most recently served as head of business development at Spacecube, where he spearheaded growth in the European market. Under his leadership, the company successfully delivered high-profile projects such as fanzones for Aston Villa and Birmingham City Football Clubs, while also expanding into new sectors, including education, frictionless retail stores, and council-led regeneration initiatives.
Commenting on his new role, Simon said: “I’m beyond thrilled to be joining -45dB. Bringing my passion and knowledge of the audio and events space, the sky is the limit for what we can achieve as we disrupt the events industry with our groundbreaking noise-reducing technology.”
Noonan added: “As we expand globally, Jonny’s expertise will be instrumental in building meaningful partnerships and ensuring our innovative technology reaches new markets.”
