Mentorship programme The Ops Nest has partnered with sustainability specialist Green Circle Solutions to release a new digital resource titled ‘The Little Green Book of Big Green Ideas’.
The free resource, launching Thursday 8 April, is a collection of ideas intended to inspire sustainability concepts and innovations throughout the industry.
The book is a collaboration of 35 individual Ops Nest members representing a cross-section of the industry, with contributors from organisers, suppliers and venues.
It will feature 100 sustainability ideas targeted at anyone in the industry to help run an environmentally friendly event or inspire sustainable development.
Green Circle Solutions managing director David Humphreys said the book aims to offer “simple ideas and practical examples to inspire each individual to turn thought into action.”
He added: “We have a collective responsibility to do everything we can, no matter how small, to help reduce the industry’s undeniably large environmental footprint.
“In creating this resource, we have brought together concepts from across the industry with members from venues, contractors, organisers and suppliers all contributing. Collaboration has been key and we believe that there is something for everyone to implement.”
The book is the latest of the Ops Nest’s ‘Opstacle’ outputs that act as quarterly challenges designed to tackle industry issues.
Humphreys added: “The book will become a live document that will grow to include more ideas and successes as they happen.
“The intention is that it becomes a go-to for best practice ideas around sustainability.”
The Ops Nest said the book will be made available via its newsletter, The Flock Gazette, with members also gaining access to templates and documents.
