EN is backing International Women’s Day on 8 March. The campaign #eachforequal builds global awareness around creating a gender equal world.
We’ve teamed up with people from across the exhibition industry to promote the day by ‘striking a pose’ for social media. EN is expecting significant numbers of exhibition professionals to take part in the campaign over the weekend – 8 March. People have already started posting poses on Twitter and it only takes a second to do but can make a huge difference.
EN editor Saul Leese said: “The majority of companies in this industry have an awful track record of women employed in senior positions as well as earning equal pay. According to varied reports only around 6-10% of CEOs are women. This is a disgraceful situation and something that needs to be remedied, and it’s why EN fully supports the campaign by International Women’s Day. If you care about this issue, get posting on Twitter and help raise awareness globally.”
Julie Driscoll, UK regional director at Hyve, said: “Diversity is key. Anything we can collaboratively do to encourage more women to take a leadership role within the exhibitions industry is a good thing. When women help other women great things happen so International Women’s Day and the launch of the Women In Exhibitions, UK chapter is something I will personally support.”
Here’s what I’m posting on Twitter:
