The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has signed up to support the Britain for Events cross-industry campaign.
The campaign, which runs from October 2015 – March 2016, will see PCMA join a further 21 partners in the six-month drive to promote the UK as a destination for meetings and live events..
“We are delighted to welcome PCMA as a first time supporter of Britain for Events,” said Michael Hirst OBE, chair of the Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP).
“As a member of the BVEP they are already demonstrating their commitment to the UK events industry and we are extremely grateful for the further support they have announced today.”
This year’s campaign will see a number of events happening throughout October, including an industry reception which takes place at The Mermaid, London, the annual Parliamentary Dinner at The Conrad, St James and several industry debates. These events take place ahead of the launch of the new All Party Parliamentary Group for Events, on 26 October.
“With distinct events, from the upcoming Parliamentary Dinner to the event industry reception, PCMA values the opportunity to support this exciting time for Britain for Events,” said Deborah Sexton, PCMA President and CEO. “The UK offers unique destinations and venues for event planners seeking to grow their audiences and PCMA’s support will ensure their message is delivered to our membership.”
Other campaign partners include Eventbrite, IMEX, Visit Scotland, Visit England, SECC, Cvent, Venuefinder and ABPCO.
PCMA has 6,500 members worldwide, organised in 17 chapters in the Americas, but has become increasingly active in Europe in recent years. It has members in over 35 countries.
