The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development has increased its focus towards an economic upturn at its annual CIPD conference and exhibition this November.
The conference programme will have 10 key HR speakers who will lead discussion on future prospects for the profession as the nation awaits financial recovery.
“We feel we’ve gathered the best known global thought leaders to discuss the future of HR,” says CIPD CEO, Jackie Orme. “We have also developed a social programme which includes ‘Meet and Eat’ where delegates can arrange to have dinner with each other on certain nights.”
The event was hosted in Harrogate for 61 years, but 2009 sees the show debut at the Manchester Central Convention Complex.
“We are always looking for ways to make our event better,” says CIPD head of conferences and exhibitions, Nina Harman. “After talking to our attendees, we felt Manchester Central’s facilities offer us greater flexibility to develop the event further. And, as we attract domestic and international visitors, the multiple transport links were an also attractive proposition.”
The CIPD conference and exhibition takes place on 17 – 19 November.
