Ocean Media Group has appointed Matt Miller as its chief executive officer. Miller took on the role on 1 November.
The company is a London-based business with a portfolio of exhibitions and specialist magazines focused on social housing, bridal and weddings across the UK.
Ocean has also announced that with Miller stepping up to CEO, David Moran – its former boss – will move into the role of executive chairman.
The change in management is part of a strategy following the acquisition of Ocean by Lonsdale Capital Partners in October 2015. The firm subsequently acquired Mercury Events in July 2016, a company founded by Matt Miller in March 2012 as a specialist B2C event organiser, running wedding and parenting shows. Miller joined Ocean as managing director of the new consumer division.
David Moran commented: “Matt and the senior team at Ocean are coming to the end of a very strong year for the company. We’ve successfully transitioned the business from the old guard to the new; building out the senior team, significantly improving our core product offerings, and we’ve created numerous organic opportunities to continue to grow in the years ahead. Alongside this we’ve made some very good complementary acquisitions to build scale and further improve our sector specialisms.”

Ocean Media portfolio of shows includes the National Wedding Shows, London Bridal Week, the Harrogate Bridal Show, Bridal Buyer, the Baby & Toddler Shows and the London Stationery Show.
