Chris Hartley has been appointed managing director of Grandstand Stoneleigh Events. He replaces Helena Pettit, who has been managing director of Grandstand Group since August 2008.
Prior to joining Grandstand Stoneleigh Events, Hartley worked as commercial director of Livebuzz and before that he served as business development director at the NEC.
In his new role, Harley will lead the NAEC Stoneleigh team, which includes management of the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE) technical events team, Grandstand Event Management and Stoneleigh Park Lodge.
“I’m delighted to be joining the team,” Hartley commented. “My passion for delivering solutions for event organisers, their exhibitors and visitors have driven my career. Grandstand Stoneleigh Events vision and investment in the venue and what it provides for both existing and potential customers make it a perfect fit.
Chairman of Grandstand Group, Sandy Anderson, added: “I would like to welcome Chris to our team. The venue has undergone extensive refurbishment since Grandstand took over the business in 2013 which reflects the needs of the event organising community.
“I have no doubt that Chris’s experience, leadership and proven commercial experience will be invaluable to the business moving forward.”
Grandstand Media Ltd, part of the group which runs both Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and the British Showjumping National Championships (BSNC) will now be headed up by Emma Wardell, event director.
