Clarion consumer MD Lee Masters has resigned to pursue opportunities outside the company.
He will be replaced by Clarion marketing director and gaming division MD, Julian Graves, who assumes the consumer helm in addition to his existing duties from 1 February. Masters (pictured) officially left on 14 December.
Clarion MD Simon Kimble told EN Master’s departure followed a change in focus across its consumer division. Clarion runs 23 consumer shows but will extend and launch several more in 2011, including new events at the £60m Bluewater retail complex.
“We wanted to take a more international focus with our consumer division and felt it was time for a change,” Kimble said. “Lee’s strength is in launching and creating new events. I had plans to put him in charge of business development but Lee elected to make a bigger change and we wish him well.”
Masters was with Clarion for eight years, initially as event director for The Baby Show UK series.
“Lee has been a fantastic and respected member of our team. It’s sad to see him go, but we part amicably. I know he’ll continue to achieve in the future,” Kimble added.
