Nexus Media Events is an events and publications company focusing on B2B exhibitions, publications, and digital content. Including the European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications and news title – Optical Connections as well as the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise publication.

ECOC is the longest running event of its kind in the World, attracting in excess of 5,500 attendees and 320 exhibiting companies each year.

Optical Connections has been providing the community with essential industry news and reports, since 2011. News is delivered through a combination of print magazines, website, monthly newsletters and webinars

Queen’s Awards magazine is the leading publication for the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise and works closely with the Queen’s Awards Office in the Department for BEIS.

Main Purpose of the role:

• Manage all revenue streams of events, including Stand, sponsorship, private meeting space and advertising sales.
• Create high-visibility, bespoke sponsorship packages and maintain existing year-on-year sponsorship agreements with key clients.
• Proactively develop and manage global client base to establish new relationships to generate new business opportunities
• Represent the brand at international trade events, managing existing accounts and generating new business through pre-arranged meetings and ‘cold-selling’ to potential clients during the shows.
• Expand the company portfolio through the identification and implementation of new revenue streams.
• Develop Global client base, with direct responsibility for approximately 350 active clients and five overseas sales representatives.

Skills, qualifications, and abilities:

  • 5+ years of events / sales experience
  • Pipeline Management
  • Track record of client management and building long term client relationships
  • Knowledge and experience of selling digital and media advertising and sponsorship
  • The ability to travel across the UK and internationally when required
