ITE Group, organiser of edtech event, Bett, has announced it is to lead a $1m (£0.78m) investment in Learnit. Learnit is a new event for the global learning ecosystem that will take place the same week as Bett.

Learnit will be held on 24-25 January 2019 at the QEII Centre and the organiser hopes to attract 1,000 attendees.

Anil Aggarwal, co-founder and chairman of Learnit said: “Just as we’ve done in other sectors, we are leading the development of a new community and an intellectually honest conversation about the current state and future of learning, to help revolutionise education, and ultimately change the world.”

Mark Shashoua, CEO of ITE Group, added: “Education has entered a period of rapid transformation. Learnit brings together the key people from across the globe who are driving the evolution of learning at every stage. This investment makes sense as Learnit perfectly complements Bett, which is the market-leading event for education. Together, these events represent the most important gathering of education leaders globally.”

Portfolio director for Bett Rachel Brodie said: “Together with Learnit we will bring people together who believe education can change the world. That’s why we’re excited to make this investment in Learnit.”

The Learnit 2019 agenda will feature 100+ speakers. Bett brings together 850 leading companies, 100 EdTech start-ups and over 35,000 learners and educators from around the globe each year.
