Grand Designs launches six new design rooms

Grand Designs Live recently announced the addition of a new competition for their 2020 show – The Great British Box Room.

The competition will featiure a new series of six installations, each imagined by a different interior designer, will be on display at the show. The brand-new feature aims to inspire visitors and encourage them to take home new information, ideas and supplier contacts.

British stylists from all over the UK are invited to submit their designs to transform tiny spaces into useful and beautiful rooms for any home. Through this, Grand Designs Live hopes to showcase the myriad of styles, cultures and influences within British design today.

The chosen designers will dress the rooms with products that are easily accessible attendees and are either in stock or online from current retailers, manufacturers and designers.

Each room will have different purposes and uses, unique to each designer and their needs, ranging from a playroom, to a workspace, to an at-home Gym.

From the 6 finalists chosen from the entries submitted, the winner of the competition will be announced on the Grand Theatre at the show, with judges including Kevin McCloud, Jenny Gibbs of the KLC School of Design.
