Events specialist GSE Media has announced it will be bringing its Graduate Engineer Show back for a second year.
The show will be held on 29 October at Derby’s Roundhouse, with around 2,000 engineering students expected to attend.
“When we ran The Graduate Engineer Show last year, we were taken aback with its success,” said director Ken Davies. “We had some extremely big names from the engineering world in attendance but without doubt, it was the sheer number of graduates who attended, from all over the UK, which really helped to make the event a hit.”
Already signed up to exhibit are industry leaders including Bombardier, Jaguar Land Rover, BAE Systems, EDF Energy, BP, Rolls-Royce, Nestlé, Amey, Airbus and Siemens. GSE Media will also provide transport from universities across the UK.
“It’s been widely reported that the UK engineering industry needs 31,000 new graduate engineers every year for the next five years, to keep up with industry demand,” Davies added. “Currently there are only around 12,000, so we expect the demand in this market to continue to grow.”
