Gaming event returns to Newbury

by EN

Newbury racecourse has won back the gaming event I-Series after losing the contract in 2008.

According to the organiser of I-Series, Multiplay, around 1,500 players will attend four days of computer gaming this November. The event has been secured for a further three editions in 2010 by Newbury, and will include an interactive computer exhibition.

“I-Series is a demanding event due the sheer volume of people, gaming peripherals and equipment involved,” says MD of Multiplay, Stewart Fletcher. “Newbury can provide us with both public and private gaming areas, which other venues cannot do. Our visitors also welcomed a return to Newbury, not least because of its ease of accessibility.”

Head of sales at Newbury, Nicola Butler, adds: “We are offering a full catering menu, with the option to have food delivered directly to gamers. Multiplay was impressed with this, as food often gets overlooked at these types of events.”

The 38th I-Series runs from 13 – 16 November.
