NAEC Stoneleigh has secured not one, but four new events to be held at the growing venue next summer.
The Advanced Materials Show, Vehicle Electrification Expo, Battery Cells and Systems Expo and Ceramics UK, managed by Event Partners, will all be holding events at the exhibition and conference centre, following talks between NAEC and bodies including Warwick District Council and Invest in Warwickshire.
Leading companies will be heading to Warwickshire to showcase their ground-breaking ideas and techniques at a prestigious two-day event. The events attract some of the biggest trade names in the world, along with a number of top county businesses, where they will unveil their latest designs and developments in a wide range of industries such as transport, energy, medicine, construction and agriculture.
NAEC managing director Chris Hartley said: “These exhibitions will provide a unique showcase for some of the most exciting breakthrough technologies in the world, with experts from all sides of industry in attendance.
“The support we have received from across Coventry and Warwickshire has been magnificent. It was a real team effort to bring these shows to Stoneleigh and we’re delighted to have taken part in such a comprehensive proposal.
“Our region is a real hub for the motor industry and the Vehicle Electrification Expo will enable automotive manufacturers to look at the latest powertrain solutions to improve the performance, efficiency, safety and sustainability of electric vehicles.
“Battery Cells and Systems Expo will bring together automotive manufacturers, electric utilities, battery system integrators, cell manufacturers and the entire manufacturing supply chain.
“The Advanced Materials Show will offer an insight into the development of materials such as graphene, nanomaterials, composites, coating and polymers, while Ceramics UK will look at the latest properties and solutions offered by technical ceramics.”
Stoneleigh, which hosts around 240 events a year and sponsored Best Show Director at this year’s EN Indy Awards, worked closely with Invest in Warwickshire, Warwick District Council, Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, Coventry and Warwickshire LEP Growth Hub, WMG at the University of Warwick and the Warwickshire College Group to help secure the shows on 8-9 July next year.
Ian Flynn, from Invest in Warwickshire, said: “We all saw this as an ideal opportunity to attract new business into the area and highlight those which are already here. The region is a major centre of research and design, test and development and manufacturing. We have major auto, aero, rail and defence businesses such as Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin Lagonda, Rolls Royce Aerospace, Meggitt, CAF Rail and Vivarail, as well as their key supply chains.
“There’s the Mira Technology Park, Quinton Rail Technology Centre, National Automotive Innovation Centre and the new UK Battery Industrialisation Centre, too, so this is a very advanced centre of excellence in a number of fields. These businesses will share a synergy and a keen interest in a lot of the technologies being showcased at Stoneleigh so we are delighted to have been able to contribute to bringing it all to the NAEC.”
Professor Dave Greenwood, from the WMG at Warwick University, will be playing a leading role at the event.
He said: “We felt it was the right time to bring an international audience to the UK for a world-class battery and electrification conference and NAEC Stoneleigh is the ideal venue.
“It’s close to WMG’s Energy Innovation Centre at the university, to Jaguar Land Rover, the London Electric Vehicle Company and the proposed UK Battery Industrialisation Centre at Coventry.
“I’m a member of the conference advisory board, helping to shape the show agenda, and WMG will use its wide network of contacts in the transport sectors to help provide key speakers to the conference.
“We are all looking forward to hosting the event and showcasing the very latest advances in engineering, manufacturing and technology in so many different, but ultimately related, areas.”
