Forum Events & Media Group, a meetings-based event organiser, has switched its entire portfolio to online events until at least March 2021.
The company made the decision following new Government guidance on events and gatherings, although it had already switched many of its events to a online format since the start of the pandemic earlier this year.
As part of the switch, Forum expanded its software to create a new interface with live video meetings, allowing the company to create a digital Forum platform.
Forum Events & Media Group managing director, Sarah Beall, said: “We have been working hard over the past few months to create Covid-safe live events for our audiences from the beginning of October. Like many others in the event industry, we’re disappointed that following latest Government guidance we are unable to bring together delegates and suppliers in person.
“However, we respect that the safety and wellbeing of everyone is of paramount during these difficult times and acknowledge that we’re unlikely to see a return to live events for some months to come. That’s why we have also been developing our digital meetings platform to ensure that the Forum experience can continue for our audiences, and facilitate continued discussion within those industries.
“We are lucky that the nature of events means that we are able to provide a strong online alternative, something that many of our friends in the events industry are unable to do. We stand in solidarity with the rest of the events sector which is suffering a huge burden during this time. We hope that all of us are able to host live events soon.”
