The inaugural Edible Garden Show has announced its first major sponsor of the event.
Newspaper publisher The Mirror Group has signed a three-year agreement to become the show’s national media partner. It will promote the show via The Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and The People in the run up to the opening on 19 March.
“We held meetings with several national newspapers and gardening publications and decided to go with The Mirror’s proposal. As well as the main newspapers, there will also be coverage in some of the leading regional titles within the Mirror stable,” says head of communications, Paul Smith. “They share our confidence that the show will be a popular event with the public.”
Mirror Group’s managing editor, Eugene Duffy, says: “We are delighted to support this new show. There is real interest in ‘Grow Your Own’ and our research highlights our readers have a real appetite for all things gardening-related. We see it as a perfect fit for our audience.”
The Edible Garden Show takes place at Stoneleigh Park on 19 – 21 March 2010.
