Fast Forward 15, the programme which aims to champion women working in events and hospitality, is looking for talented event profs to be mentors in 2017.

The initiative was conceived by Zibrant MD Fay Sharpe (pictured) in 2015, and has gone on to become a benchmark for other personal development initiatives in the events industry.

Mentors from the 2016 programme included: Tracy Halliwell, director of business tourism and major events, London & Partners; Liz Young, head of events, Historic Royal Palaces; Steve Brown, London 2012 Paralympic GB wheelchair rugby captain, Josef Jammerbund, head of events, The British Fashion Council; and Robert Quayle, meetings leader & head of events, UK Marketing Company, AstraZeneca UK Ltd.

The year-long Fast Forward 15 programme gives handpicked mentees the opportunity to develop their personal impact by gaining visibility, exposure and confidence.

Sharpe commented: “It’s fair to say from the conversations I’ve had, the mentors get as much out the programme as the mentees. Their feedback really does highlight the genuine enjoyment and satisfaction they get in seeing them grow and develop.

“We have a number of our existing mentors continuing on into 2017, but part of the programme is evolution and bringing fresh mentors are part of that.”
