The Event Professionals Exchange – a unique Club aimed at professionals working in the thriving meetings, conferences and events sector – has opened its doors in London.
Event Professional Exchange is the brainwave of David Preston and Richard John, who both run Realise, the specialist industry training company that is also pioneering the event apprentice programme.
Preston said: “So many people in our industry work remotely, or don’t need an office because they are always on site. However, we felt there was a need for an accessible London venue where they could work, meet clients or just grab a few minutes of recharge time, in the company of like-minded professionals.”
Located in Birchin Lane, just minutes from Bank Station, Event Professionals Exchange is located in The Brand Exchange, a Grade II listed building, and offers a host of features including five private rooms that are available for hire. Members can also receive commission if they hire these rooms on behalf of their clients.
John added: “We set up Realise as a virtual company, and have found that using private clubs is a far more fun and cost-effective way to run a business. We want the Exchange to be the place for professionals within the industry to meet, gather, share information and even try out new ideas in a safe environment.”
The membership rates are being kept low, with a monthly membership of just £20 (inc. VAT) per month with no minimum contract. There’s also a generous offer of a three-month free trial period for potential members to assess the benefits and check out the facilities. Those who then apply and are accepted will also be exempt from the initial application fee.
The idea has already been warmly received, with Helen Moon of EWL committing to make The Event Professionals Exchange their de facto base for the organisation.
