Diversified Communications UK announced its new Commitment to Care eco-initiative this week on 22 April, to mark World Earth Day.
The new campaign focuses on reducing the environmental impact of the business and creating greener offices at its locations in Brighton, London, Nailsworth and Peterborough.
The company’s HR director Hazel Slimmon explains: “With our portfolio of trade shows in the natural and organic sector (plus many passionate and inspiring environmentally-conscious members of staff) the environment is an issue that’s already high on our radar. But it’s also important to us to do our bit in the office itself and to make sure we have as many green initiatives in place across the business as possible.
“That’s why we came up with our Commitment to Care campaign to try and ensure that we are doing what we can to help the world – not just because it’s our corporate responsibility, but because we want to, and we care. We look forward to working together as a team to make sure we deliver our promise – starting with a beach clean after the Easter bank holiday!”
As part of the campaign, Diversified Communications UK has released a statement outlining the actions the company has taken towards reducing its environmental impact, which include improved recycling facilities, a switch to recycled stationery and toilet paper, milk in glass bottles rather than plastic, and a commitment to buy local where possible.
The company has also launched an annual beach clean at its Brighton headquarters, which will take place in April each year to mark World Earth Day and the anniversary of the campaign.
The first beach clean was kicked off by a team of volunteers from the Brighton office on the morning of Tuesday 23 April, which saw them head to Brighton’s famous beach to help to reduce litter pollution.
Sharna Waid, PR manager at Diversified Communications UK, commented: “As someone who is extremely passionate about the environment, I’m so proud to be part of an organisation that cares just as much about the planet as they do their staff.
“Diversified’s ‘Commitment to Care’ campaign is a massive step in the right direction to reducing our carbon footprint as a company, on a daily basis.”
