ICHF Events has chalked up a seven per cent increase in attendance to its annual Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts consumer show in Exeter.
The organiser reported 16,000 attendees and more than 150 exhibitors at its latest event at Westpoint Arena, its 22nd edition at the venue. The annual consumer show targets craft enthusiasts and encompasses sewing, knitting, quilting, papercraft, scrapbooking and glass making.
Features thisyear included a display of costumes from noted film and TV adaptations of Jane Austen’s novels, which will now tour ICHF’s other Creative Stitches and Hobbycraft editions across the UK next year. The Exeter show on 27-30 September also offered a new artists area, knitting lounge, free workshops and demonstrations and art and sewing displays.
“Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts in Exeter has always been a successful show for uswith a very loyal following,” ICHF MD David Bennett said. “This year we were able to increase the number of exhibitors and the variety of crafts on offer while maintaining the high standard that visitors have come to expect from ICHF Events.”
The consumer show returns to Westpoint Arena on 26-29 September 2013.
Also in September, ICHF launched Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts at EventCity in Manchester in partnership with Woman’s Weekly magazine, which returns in February 2013.
The organiser also launched an edition at Glow, Bluewater last February, which attracted 11,000 visitors. It returned to the retail-based venue with Prima magazine on 6-9 September and will hold another edition there next February.
