ICHF Events will launch a Manchester edition of its Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts show at EventCity in September.
The organiser has teamed up with Woman’s Weekly to launch a Woman’s Weekly-branded show from 13 to 15 September at EventCity by the Trafford Park retail mall. It expects to attract 125 exhibitors focused on products, ideas and innovations for creative crafts.
Highlights will include a display of masquerade ball costumes with gowns worn by stars of the silver screen such as Drew Barrymore, Uma Thurman, Sienna Miller and Catherine Zeta Jones, and a fashion area focused on the latest trends in haute couture. The programme also features live demonstrations, workshops and a cooking theatre.
The Knit ‘n’ Natter Lounge will also allow visitors to work on projects designed especially for the show overseen by knitting experts Kandy Regis and Tina Egleton, while a fiction workshop and one-to-one sessions led by Gaynor Davies will help budding authors writing short stories or novels. A Woman’s Weekly ‘virtual’ office will be in operation at the show providing further advice.
The launch of Woman’s Weekly Live – The Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts Show at EventCity follows the successful debut of the brand at Glow, Bluewater in February, which attracted 11,000 visitors.
IHCF plans to run a second edition of Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts at Glow (pictured) this year and has struck a partnership with Prima magazine for the show from 6 to 9 September.
The pair previously worked together on ICHF’s Crafts for Christmas and Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts. The Prima Homemade – The Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts Show at Bluewater is expected to feature 200 exhibitors and will also include a Prima Live area where visitors can pick up tips from the magazine’s craft team experts.
Other features planned include live demonstrations with interiors expert Selina Lake, a market place for handmade jewellery, crafts and gifts, and Catherine Woram’s Kids workshops.
“We have worked with Prima for many years and it seems only natural to progress this into a joint show,” ICHF MD David Bennett said.
In April, ICHF also held its first London-based Cake International consumer show at Excel London.
