CloserStill Media has acquired a majority stake in Learning 2018 in a deal with US organiser Masie Productions for an undisclosed sum.
Learning 2018 welcomes around 2,000 delegates from the technology and corporate learning sectors. and in 2017 had speakers such as Michelle Obama and actor John Lithgow. The 2018 event is set to welcome Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. and author Dan Pink.
The two organisers have formed a new company under the joint venture agreement, which will continue to produce the annual event at the Disney’s Coronado Springs Convention Center in Orlando Florida.
Elliot Masie, CEO of Masie Productions, is a well-known figure in the global eLearning industry and will continue to lead programme curation and act as host for the event.
The new partnership has lead t the introduction of Tech@learning – a mutli-strand content programme focussing on adaptive learning, artificial intelligence and machine learning, emerging assessment technologies, chatbots, immersive realities, edTech and venture innovations.
The acquisition adds to CloserStill’s presence in the learning sector, as the organiser already runs Learning Technologies, which attracts more than 8,000 attendees to its London edition.
