The traditional structure of the Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW) has been re-curated into four focused exhibitions in the area’s most historic buildings.
The three-day festival, organised by Media 10, will return for its fifth year in 2014.
The Design Factory will present high-profile international brands in the Farmiloe Building; Detail will show high-end interiors and decoration in the Priory Church at the Order of St John, and Platform will showcase talented up-and-coming designers in the subterranean Victorian prison at The House of Detention.
A new section, Additions will take over the Crypt on the Green at St James Church, exhibiting small design pieces and accessories.
In 2013, 54,000 visitors registered to attend, an increase of 50 per cent on the previous year. Out of those, 27 per cent were architects and developers, 21 per cent interior designers, 22 per cent product designers and manufacturers, and 11 per cent buyers and retailers.
This year, more than 250 design brands exhibited across a series of pop-up exhibitions and open showrooms within the square mile of central Clerkenwell. Over 35 countries were represented by exhibitors.
The next exhibition will be on 20-22 May 2014.
Media 10 launched the UK’s first virtual exhibition for its leading trade event 100% Design.
