Bury your used event roller banners to grow flowers, say printers Hatch

by Stuart Wood

Printing company Hatch has launched a new fully recyclable roller banner in the UK, which can be buried in the ground to grow plants.

The banner features a lining of seeds inside its cardboard-constructed base, which means customers can bury it after use and within around twelve months they could have a bed of flowers.

The banners are printed with vegan-accredited processes. Its full size is 800x2000mm and, if carefully dealt with, can be used multiple times.

Managing director and founder of Hatch Gary Toomey said: Running a business in an environmentally-friendly way is becoming less of a choice. Nowadays, I believe it’s a necessity.”

Hatch believes that not enough printers are taking their green initiatives out of the door and offering customers the choice to help protect the environment through their purchases.

This isn’t the first time Hatch is a pioneer in the printing industry. In March, Hatch became the UK’s first printer to hold the Vegetarian Society Approved vegan accreditation, after carrying out a comprehensive analysis of every aspect of their supply chain to ensure all products used were animal-free.
