Tickets have sold out for the seventh annual EN Race Day. The event returns to Sandown Racecourse on Wednesday 20 September for another highly-anticipated day of industry debate and networking.

More than 150 industry organisers will gather at the racecourse to learn more about the hot button topic of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in a panel discussion hosted by GDPR expert Christine Andrews, MD of consultancy firm DQM GRC.

Andrews will kick off proceedings with a short presentation covering the basics of the regulation and what it will mean for exhibition organisers. The session is followed by a no-holds-barred debate featuring CloserStill head of data – and EN 30 Under Thirty member– Richard Bowen, Artexis Easyfairs marketing director Alison Church, and Sylvain Meneux, Upper Street Events head of marketing.

“GDPR is changing the way we go about marketing our shows, but also presents us with an opportunity to promote the power of live events,” said Church. “This will be a valuable opportunity to discuss the challenges we face as an industry, and share ideas and experiences about the way we can tackle them!”

The debate will be followed by networking drinks, a three-course meal and some hot tips from EN’s professional tipster before the racing kicks off at 2pm.

Johnno Gordon, sales director for Exhibition News, commented: “The EN Race Day is one of the highlights of the exhibition industry calendar each year. This year’s topic is set to have a huge impact on organisers in our industry, which is why we’ve brought in an excellent panel of industry leaders for a practical, useful discussion on navigating the regulation change.

“The Race Day isn’t just a debate, it’s a chance for visitors to meet old friends and new, network and put their racing know-how (or lack of) to the test.”

Nicola Macdonald, senior reporter of Exhibition News, added: “We’re keen to make this GDPR discussion valuable for all attendees. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A and we’d encourage anyone with specific questions for our panel to get involved on the day or alternatively get in touch at nmacdonald@mashmedia.net.”

The EN Race Day is partner of Sandown Racecourse. The event is sponsored by CircData, GES, Showlite, Aztec, Creative Hire, Pitman’s People and Insite Graphics.
