AEO’s Chris Skeith tells BBC ‘The event goes on until it can’t’

by Saul Leese

The Association of Event Organisers (AEO) CEO Chris Skeith appeared on BBC News’ Worklife programme yesterday 10 March.

Skeith was interviewed by Sally Bundock and David Eades about the impact of the coronavirus on the events industry.

He said: “There have been over 500 events cancelled (exhibitions) around the world so far, and we estimate that’s going to be about £23bn worth of impact on the markets those events serve. The events industry is a brilliant industry, it catalyses trade. But the deeper impact on the supply chain is concerning.”

“The idea at the moment is the event goes on until it can’t”, said Skeith.

The interview can be watched here, starting at 6:06.
