The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has announced its 2018 conference will be held on 28 June at ExCeL London, with the theme of ‘Tomorrow’s World’ and featuring Keith Coats, futurist and leadership expert, as keynote speaker.
AEV director Rachel Parker urged venue professionals interested in the future shape of venue business and operations to book their places soon, saying “We’ve focused our third conference on the future of venues, because venue professionals need to know about the profound changes heading our way. We’ve assembled a great schedule of content to engage with every aspect of tomorrow’s world of venue operations.”
“This year,” continued Parker, “we’re delighted to welcome Keith Coats as our keynote speaker. Keith’s global reputation as a presenter, facilitator and author is only exceeded by his expertise in helping professionals from The Scouts to IBM in leading their organisations in preparing, embracing and successfully managing future change.”
The conference will begin with coffee and registration at 9.15am and AEV Chair Jeremy Rees will welcome the delegates at 9.45am. He will be followed by presentation from, amongst others, Adele Burns of the7stars Media Agency and Sanjeev Katwa, Head of Technology at Tottenham Hotspur FC. The speakers will be interspersed with panel sessions on topics including sustainability and security.
“Every year we’ve held an icebreaker event on the night before the conference,” concluded Parker, “and its proved to be a very popular feature that’s created a slightly different networking atmosphere, with more of an emphasis on enjoyment and esprit de corps. This year, our icebreaker event is at the DC ‘Dawn of the Superheroes’ exhibition at the O2, and I’m hoping it will inspire our venue superheroes into even greater achievements in the future!”
Registration for the conference is open and can be found at www.aevconference.org.uk, the conference is open to all and special rates will apply for members of the AEV, AEO and ESSA.
