The Business Design Centre welcomes new starter Peter Grimster this week. Peter has joined the BDC as venue sales manager, replacing Emma Clarke who moved on earlier this month.
BDC executive director of venue sales Max Bull commented: “I am excited that Peter has joined us and he will be a great addition to our team. His industry and organiser experience will also be a great benefit joining us at such an exciting time, with a record number of new shows coming to the BDC in 2019 and beyond.
Sarge in charge
The East of England Arena and Events Centre (EEAEC) and catering specialist Amadeus, part of the NEC Group, have joined forces to drive conference and banqueting business for the venue. They have appointed Michelle Sergeant as Amadeus’ sales account manager, working out of an office at EEAEC.
Sergeant, with a background in catering, hotels and hospitality, has already started her role, working with local corporates and businesses and establishing the EEAEC as an ideal venue for meetings, gala dinners, Christmas parties, awards ceremonies, conferences and other events.
Double win at Windsor
Catering, hospitality and global event management specialist, Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, is strengthening its operation at The National Football Stadium at Windsor Park with the appointment of two new team members.
Laura West joins as general manager, while Amy Murray takes up the role of sales executive.
Laura has responsibility for managing the operations team, driving revenue and maximising sales across all departments. Amy will use her business skills to engage both the corporate and leisure markets, showcase the venue and deliver tailored events with a difference for all clients.
Sofia Kovalevskaia has begun a new role as senior sales executive at the International Disaster Management Exhibition. She previously served as sales executive at Clarion.

Creative communications agency drp has seen pivotal growth to their live division over the last 12 months, and as a result has announced a new alignment of its live team.
Project direction, producers, project management, account directors and account managers will see a new regained focus on their services. This will include content, strategy, events and experiential. This new focus will also see additional team members evolving into new roles, to help head up these specialisms and some clients.
With these changes, drp sees Stephanie Okafor joining the business as head of project management. Stephanie previously worked for event and venue finding agency, Banks Sadler. She has over 10 years’ experience working with a range of event agencies and has extensive industry knowledge.

Scotland’s largest events organiser, QD Events, has welcomed four new recruits to its base in Glasgow.
Nikki Miller, Ali Atkinson, Emily Smith and Chloé Whyte have all joined the company over the past month in sales, marketing and business support positions.
Europa Showfreight, a dedicated division of logistics provider Europa Worldwide Group, has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new business development manager.
Jack Baxter, 19, is the newest recruit at the division’s Birmingham base in Prologis Park, Midpoint Way, Minworth. Jack’s role is to develop new business and focus on customer relationship management with new and existing clients. His appointment represents Europa’s commitment to further grow this specialist logistics service.
