The Tower of London hosted the main gala dinner that welcomed US buyers attending The eVent: UK Summit 2017, an initiative by Historic Royal Palaces. The independent charity partnered with London & Partners and 2B UK to devise the four-day event programme across five of its palaces. The summit welcomed 20 North American buyers plus suppliers.
The dinner, held on Saturday 29 July, was a collaborative event staged by Historic Royal Palaces and DMC 2B UK. It featured approved palace suppliers including event caterer Blue Strawberry, production company Wise Productions and florist Pinstripes & Peonies.
Following the gala dinner and culmination of the summit, buyers were split into two groups for the rest of the programme, with half of the buyers heading to Scotland and the other half remaining in London for the Historic Royal Palaces’ Palace Pursuits programme.
Milan Thakrar, business development manager, Historic Royal Palaces, said: “It was fantastic to be involved in The eVent: The UK Summit and to work alongside London & Partners to demonstrate what the UK has to offer.”
Thakrar said the idea behind its Palace Pursuits programme was to allow buyers the time to explore each venue, and experience their incredible history for themselves, as well as demonstrating the many different ways the venues can be utilised for events.
“It was also an opportunity to communicate our charitable cause to buyers. As an independent charity which receives no Crown or government funding, all income raised from commercial activities such as corporate and private event hire is reinvested in conservation, public access and educational activities, so present and future generations can continue to enjoy the palaces for years to come,” he concluded.
