The organiser of the TNT Travel Show 2012 is claiming record attendance at its show last weekend at Earls Court.
The official attendance has not yet been ratified, but is expected to be around 15,000 for the one-day travel extravaganza, up from 12,260 in 2011. The show saw a 16 per cent visitor rise last year after it moved from the Ibis hotel in Earl’s Court.
Attendees were given the opportunity to enter a variety of games and competitions, with the TNT budgie smuggler competition drawing an excitable crowd.
The show’s seminar schedule featured adventurer and broadcaster Simon Reeves who spoke of his travels through Mogadishu and Somalia, as well as encountering cave-dwelling sharks.
“It was great to see so many people attend the show and even more satisfying to see that the audience has grown in size but also diversified too, with many Brits attending the show now as well, said Kevin Ellis, CEO of TNT. It is great to have so many operators doing record business.
“When there is so much doom and gloom around it is nice to see some good and happy news for a change,” he added.
