The London Print Design Fair to debut at One Marylebone

by EN

A print-focused trade show is being launched by John Kelley, organiser of The London Textile Fair, to meet industry demand.

The first edition of The London Print Design Fair will be held on 12-13 March at exhibition space One Marylebone.

“We were asked by our current print design studios, who currently exhibit at The London Textile Fair to set up a separate fair just after all the catwalks, so that they could showcase their latest designs and not be under the shadow of the textile fair,” event organiser of The London Textile Fair Helen Kooyman told EN.

“They thought it would be a good idea to have their own show just for print design.”

The news follows the spring edition of The London Textile Fair, which was held in January at the Business Design Centre. The organiser said the event attracted 285 exhibitors split into three areas and more than 3,500 visitors, up from 2,000 at the last show.

Kooyman said the new show is aimed at print design studios selling to the retail and design industry to buyers and product developers from head offices.

“We want it to become as established as the textile fair we organise and be as well known as Indigo in Paris at Premiere Vision,” added Kooyman. “It will be the first of its kind.”

The Business Design Centre is set to host Diversified Business Communications’ new geospatial event in May.
