Tarsus Group plc has released a trading update for the second half of the year. In the report, the international B2B media group said latest financials are in line with the group’s expectations with “key events performing well and buyers up 7%”.
Connect Expo – the flagship event in the Connect portfolio – and Labelexpo Europe, also one of the group’s largest events, have been held in this period.
Held in New Orleans, in August, Connect Expo produced “a strong performance”. Labelexpo Europe produced a very strong result. Buyers were up by 6% on the previous edition and re-bookings for the 2019 edition reached a 84%.
Tarsus said that key remaining events for 2017, including the Dubai Airshow, are tracking in line with its expectations. For 2017 as a whole current like-for-like bookings are 8% ahead, “promising another strong year” for Tarsus.
“Our busier second half of the year has been strong, as expected, with our largest shows continuing to make good progress,” said Douglas Emslie, Tarsus Group managing director. “We are delighted by the performance of the more recent additions to the group’s portfolio in the key markets of the Americas and China, where we are progressively scaling the business.”
Emslie said the company expects good performances from the remaining shows in 2017, and remains confident of delivering “a strong result for the year as a whole”.
Tarsus will be hosting a Capital Markets Seminar for analysts and investors on 21 November 2017 at Saddlers Hall, London. The event will provide information principally on the Connect business in the US.
The Group expects to publish a trading update for the year ending 31 December 2017 on 12 January 2018.
