Global Experience Specialists (GES) has appointed Jason Stead to the position of chief operating officer, exhibitions and events for its EMEA region.
The former i2i client experience director takes up the role on 9 June.
At GES, Stead (pictured) will assume responsibility for exhibitor service and revenue, product and service development, procurement and customer facing digital tools.
He will be working alongside GES chief commercial officer Andy Gibb, chief commercial officer, design and build Mark Eddy and chief operating officer, design and build Michael Stewart.
Paul McKenna will retain responsibility for finance and operations as chief finance officer.
“I am delighted to be joining GES; it is a substantial business with established operations across the EMEA region,” said Stead.
“The company has some of the best people in the industry working within it and this role presents an exciting opportunity to utilise the insight I have gained to ensure we deliver the best possible exhibitor experience, helping exhibitors to grow, become more profitable and ultimately rebook.”
Stead joined Emap in 2009 as procurement director and when it became i2i, he took the position of client experience director with responsibility for the show operations function and enhancing exhibitor experience through the establishment of a new client services team.
“We have developed a very strong management team across EMEA and Jason is a great addition,” said GES executive chairman for EMEA Nick Marshall.
“He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and insight from an organiser’s perspective and has a real passion for improving both the exhibitor experience and return from exhibiting.
“He will be using his broad skill set and strategic thinking to ensure consistency in our service delivery, to make sure our products and services are best in class and to help drive the growth of the business.”
GES is considering a withdrawal from the data service market.
