The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has welcomed another landmark venue to the association as a full member.

The Science Museum, founded more than 160 years ago, is a globally recognised attraction receiving over three million visitors a year. The museum has recently announced the opening of its brand new dedicated event space, ‘Illuminate,’ in January 2019.

Rachel Parker, AEV director, said: “I’m proud to welcome The Science Museum, with its distinguished history and unique perspective, to the Association of Event Venues. Our association is the sum of our members talents, and I know The Science Museum has a huge amount of expertise and knowledge to bring to the table. I’m looking forward to meeting members of the whole team and I hope they will make full use of the services and member benefits that we offer.”

Ben Lheureux, head of catering and events at The Science Museum added: “We are excited to be joining the Association of Event Venues, especially having heard such positive feedback from those in the industry. The combination of focused working groups attended by our peers and the input of expert suppliers from each field means we will benefit from a 360 view of industry trends.

“We are looking forward to utilising the opportunities to learn and share best practice.”
