ReedPOP, the Reed Exhibitions-owned company which recently acquired MCM Comic Con, has announced the acquisition of the Gamer Network.
This means that the company – primarily an events business – now operates a number of video game media publications, including GamesIndustry.biz, Eurogamer, RockPaperShotgun, USgamer, Outside Xbox, VG247 and Digital Foundry.
It will now also run UK video gaming expos EGX and EGX Rezzed.
Rupert Loman, CEO of the Gamer Network will remain with the company to develop ReedPOP’s global game strategy. Simon Maxwell has been promoted from COO to MD of Gamer Network and VP of ReedPOP UK.
