Gamer Network is moving its Rezzed show to The NEC from the Brighton Centre. The next event on 22-23 June is expected to welcome around 10,000 visitors.
The new PC and indie games show was launched in Brighton last year.
Gamer Network was previously Eurogamer Network, which publishes a range of video game websites including Eurogamer.net.
The NEC’s IT infrastructure at the venue, which now includes free visitor Wi-Fi, helped influence the move.
“We’re delighted to bring the number-one PC and indie gaming show to the NEC,” said Gamer Network events director David Lilley. “Opening the show up to the whole country is exciting for us and we’re looking forward to building on the success of the 2012 event.”
Chris Hartley, The NEC’s business development director, said shows that launched at the NEC in 2010 grew by an average of 30 per cent in year two and around 13 per cent in year three.
“We’re delighted to welcome Rezzed to The NEC for 2013 and we’re confident that this year’s event will be a great success,” he said. “We’re a flexible venue and we provide a blank canvas for innovation and creativity, which is a great fit for such an exciting and creative industry.”
