Dublin-based S&L Promotions has announced it is bringing its Over 50s show to Harrogate International Centre (HIC) in April.
“This is going to be a fantastic new show for Harrogate,” said Simon Kent, acting director at HIC. “The flagship Dublin event features over 250 exhibitors and attracts more than 23,000 visitors [unaudited]. We will be doing all we can to support S&L Promotions to make sure that this first for Harrogate is equally successful. And with our local population of older people set to increase to over 30 per cent in the next 20 years, we think it will prove very popular among local residents and those living in the wider region.”
S&L event show director Brian McCabe said the firm identified Harrogate as the ideal location for the new show outside Ireland.
“North Yorkshire is a popular area to retire to and Harrogate itself is a popular destination because of its historical attractions, Turkish Baths and wide-ranging cultural and leisure opportunities. All popular with the over 50s,” he said.
The show, described by the organisers as ‘entertaining, informative and educational’, will include golf lessons, painting and keep fit master classes.
The Knitting and Stitching Show recently claimed 25,000 visitors to the HIC.
