A new online venue search portal called Beautiful Schools will soon launch to showcase the UK’s top schools as potential venues for meetings, exhibitions and events.
More than 30 schools across the country are estimated to go live, showcasing their facilities, at the launch on 1 June 2017.
Beautiful Schools is a free-to-use service for venue bookers, offering a simple, one-stop shop window of spectacular schools as venue options.
The brains behind the service are entrepreneurs Dorothy McLaren and Chelsea Hayes. They recognised that event organisers are under increasing pressure to find multi-purpose venues with distinctive or unique features and world-class facilities.
Their research showed that event organisers are not widely considering schools as options, as there has never been a central, easy-to-use schools showcase and booking enquiry platform.
McLaren and Hayes noted that the UK’s leading schools are not realising the full commercial value of their assets at a time when they are under increasing pressure to increase revenue.
Although schools boast some of the best facilities in the UK, from golf courses to state-of-the-art concert halls, and often situated within beautifully designed buildings of architectural merit, most lie dormant for over a third of the year.
The team behind Beautiful Schools has been working in the schools’ sector for over four years and will use their unrivalled contacts and knowledge of those schools to offer venue bookers the best insider advice.
Dorothy McLaren, co-founder of Beautiful Schools, commented: “The schools’ sector is a huge untapped resource for the meetings market and we’re extremely excited to be launching our new online search and matching service.
“Whether you want to book a private dinner where Game of Thrones was filmed or hold the annual company away-day where your colleagues can swim, shoot, dine, drink and sleep all in one location – we’ll find it in Beautiful Schools.”
Some of the top schools in the country have already signed up, and Beautiful Schools aims to bring over 60 schools on board by the end of the year from across the UK, including areas where multi-purpose venues are currently limited.
