The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) has appointed Dan Thurlow as its new director of exhibition sales.
Previously portfolio director for i2i Events Group, Thurlow (pictured) will be responsible for developing the content and attracting and negotiating contracts with organisers in the consumer and trade exhibition markets.
“Dan’s extensive experience extends to both exhibition sales and in-house as an organiser which will be a valuable asset to the company,” said SECC chief executive Peter Duthie.
“With the recent opening of The SSE Hydro on site, this appointment comes at a pivotal stage as we are now able to utilise much more of the SECC campus for exhibitions. We look forward to welcoming him on board as we focus on the long term future and success of this key sector of our business.”
Thurlow brings with him worldwide experience in the exhibition industry, with emphasis on launches, strategic development of magazines and live media.
“I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity of the position of director of exhibition sales at the SECC at this exciting time and look forward to working with the team to develop future growth of exhibitions within the business,” said Thurlow.
“I am confident that we can build on the venue’s reputation for client service and experience and bring new events to Glasgow.”
The SECC has recently announced a partnership with the Beatson Cancer Charity.
