The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has announced that the AEV Security Working Group has appointed Sam Marshall, head of operations at The Harrogate Convention Centre as the new chair, and Steve Neal, group operations manager at The NEC as vice-chair.
Sam Marshall (pictured right) expressed his gratitude to the outgoing chair, Andy Coulson of Farnborough International, saying: “Andy has excelled as chair of the group, and I know all of us are grateful for the skill and dedication he has brought to the role. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to build on the successes of the group under his guidance, as we consider and formulate how best to create safe, secure events for everyone, and respond to changing security circumstances.”
Steve Neal (pictured top) commented: “I’m looking forward to supporting Sam in his role as chair of the group and working on new and future developments in the security world. I would like to extend my thanks to Andy for his years of service and dedication to the group.”
Rachel Parker, AEV director, added: “I’d also like to thank Andy Coulson for his sterling service to the group over the years, and to welcome Sam and Steve to their roles of chair and vice-chair. I know that their extensive experience and grasp of the security issues facing the event industry will be important assets to both the group and the association.”
